Food, flags, maps, family traditions and pride were all a part of the Heritage Day celebration Wednesday, December 15, 2010. Students interviewed aunts, uncles, parents and grandparents to discover their family history and to learn about family traditions. Little did they know they would walk away with an invaluable treasure, a sense of pride and a stronger tie to generations of family history.
Which all this knowledge, students reported on a country. They shared stories that spanned generations, showed artifacts and told their classmates interesting facts about the country they chose to study. The culminating activity was sampling food and playing games from the country.
I enjoyed being part of the Heritage Celebration and watching students take pride in their work and in their family history.

Community School Grading Day and Winter Break Schedule
We have exciting news!!!
Our Community School - Cougar Club is opened for Grading Day, December 17, 2010 from 7:00am to 6:00pm. The theme is the Polar Express including a conductor, hot chocolate, and fun and exciting activities.
Cougar Club is also open during the winter break, Monday through Thursday each week, same hours, same fun.

Welcome
This morning I created a blog account. This is very exciting and so 21st Century. This reminds me that each day is gives us an opportunity to learn something new. It is great to be a lifelong learner. What have you learned today?
